People take their emojis very seriously — just ask Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who literally had to save the world’s sanity by correcting a slightly off burger emoji. People can’t have enough emojis as well.
Adding to people’s choice, the Unicode Consortium has released the final list of new emoji for the year 2018. Unicode Emoji 11.0 has a total of 157 new additions, as well as the existing 2,666 icons from previous sets.

Of course, we can’t yet see how Apple, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, and Twitter will choose to draw them, however the list itself shows us what kind of reactions we’re going to get across all platforms.
Of the new emoji, 77 of them are faces, accompanied by skin colour variations. There are new “hot” and “cold” faces, “smile hearts”, “partying face, and “drunk face” too. We even get new hair options for “red”, “curly”, “bald”, and “white”, and two new professions; “superhero” and “supervillain”. There are also singular body parts like legs and feet as well, all in a multitude of skin tones of course.
Then there come newer animal additions like llamas, hippos, kangaroos, peacocks, mosquitos and, for some reason, microbes. Along with them are new food emoji like mangoes, bagels, and cupcakes, as well as science-based ones like a petri dish, lab coat, and a test tube.
Don’t expect to see any of these just yet though, as they’re officially releasing in June, by when we should have an idea of how each vendor will draw them up.
