Virat Kohli Has Scored An ODI Hundred Every 5.79 Innings And That Makes Him The Most Consistent

V

Virat  Kohli is a man of records and in ODIs he is reaping them one after the other. Right now the man has the least number of innings on an average between centuries.

BCCI/AFP

That’s a pretty great feat when one considers he has played nearly 200 innings. Now of course, many have good rates but it would be unfair to compare players who are relatively new to those who have stood the test of time. So we are considering only those who have 20 hundreds or more in this elite list. Here’s a look (their average innings per century are outside the bracket while it’s their century tally in No. of innings inside it):

  1. Virat Kohli (India) – 5.79 (34 in 197)
  1. Hashim Amla (South Africa) – 6.07 (26 in 158)
  1. AB de Villiers (South Africa) – 8.6 (25 in 215)
  1. Sachin Tendulkar (India) – 9.22 (49 in 452)
  1. Herschelle Gibbs (South Africa) – 11.42 (21 in 240)
  1. Ricky Ponting (Australia) – 12.16 (30 in 365)
  1. Saeed Anwar (Pakistan) – 12.2 (20 in 244)
  1. Chris Gayle (West Indies) – 12.27 (22 in 270)
  1. Tillakaratne Dilshan (Sri Lanka) – 13.77 (22 in 303)
  1. Kumar Sangakkara (Sri Lanka) – 15.2 (25 in 380)
