Police in Mumbai’s Vile Parle has arrested six people for the alleged sexual exploitation of a 15-year-old girl for a year. According to police, the accused had made a video of her which they used to blackmail her and keep her silent.
In her complaint the Class X student said the accused have sexually assaulted her on several occasions since May 2017, when she was studying in Std IX.

In her statement she told police that after she finished her Std IX exams, during the summer vacations, she used to spend time with girls in her locality, and one of the nine accused, who is 20, allegedly reached out to her when she was playing with her friend.
He asked her to come along with him saying he wanted to show her something his house. She said she took her friend along, but on reaching his house, he asked the friend to leave, since she was not ‘invited’.
The accused then allegedly showed the victim an obscene video and raped her. A few days later, another friend of his approached the girl and told her that he had shot a video of her sexual assault, and that if she did not fulfill his sexual demands, he would circulate this video in the entire vicinity.
The girl continues to face sexual assaults by the men, until she revealed her ordeal to her mother, a daily wage worker.

The mother then took the girl to the cops and filed a complaint.
“After an FIR was registered, the police have arrested six out nine people in the case, all the accused are living in the same locality in Vile Parle,” Assistant Police Commissioner, Vile Parle Division, Ravindra Dohifode said.
The accused were booked under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code and relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
