All the Malayalees in the house, there’s some great news! For those who are sick of waiting in queues outside beverage outlets, the state government is planning to launch liquor vending machines outside the liquor shops.
The main motive is to AVOID overcrowding outside liquor and to also keep the queues away from adding to the traffic on roads.
According to a Manorama Online report, the Kerala State Beverages Cooperation (KSBC) has proposed a plan to introduce liquor vending machines outside the stores.
While the machine is set to make life easier for people, there are some obvious restrictions that come along with it.
Once the machines are set up, a customer cannot buy more bottles than he is permitted to.
Kerala High Court’s order to KSBC last July to figure out a way to put an end to the long queues outside liquor stores and they have taken the task very seriously.
The corporation also plans to roll out several mobile apps to help users locate the nearest outlet and the availability of their favored brands.
