It’s just not the best time for Apple. Just a few days after users reported of the iPhone X display freezing in cold temperatures, in addition to the previous autocorrect glitch, there’s now another issue with the device.
Some of the device users are now reporting their smartphone has developed a constant green line running vertically down the side of the iPhone X’s display.

Users complained on Twitter, calling it the “green line of death”. It’s not really killing off the device, but it certainly makes the iPhone X unusable by sheer virtue of how annoying it is. The line seems to be pretty thick in some instances and won’t go away even after restarting the device. According to MacRumours, at least 25 iPhone X owners have reported the problem so far. In most cases, that line wasn’t present when they first started the smartphone, but gradually appeared over days or weeks.
Thankfully, Apple is responding appropriately and replacing the affected displays free of charge. However, it hasn’t yet made an announcement as to what exactly is causing the issue, though it’s likely the company is still investigating the matter.
This latest incident is just days after iPhone X users reported that their display would freeze for up to five minutes, when stepping into slightly colder temperatures outdoors. Apple has pegged that to a quirk of the device’s new OLED display, saying it plans to roll out a patch to fix that in the near future.
