The Army said that “it goes without saying” it will retaliate against Pakistan’s ceasefire violations yesterday and when it does, “action will speak for itself”.

“That (retaliation) goes without saying, I think I don’t have to say that. Action will speak for itself,” said Sarath Chand, Vice Chief of Army Staff, on the Pakistani aggression of yesterday, in which four soldiers were killed in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri sector. Read more

The Supreme Court (SC) had harsh words for ‘khap’ panchayats taking the law into their own hands with so-called honour killings, and strongly urged the Centre to protect couples from such ‘khap’ actions.
