There is no doubt that an athlete needs to maintain his or her fitness. A good healthy living is required for that.
Let’s look at Cristiano Ronaldo. The man is a perfect specimen when it comes to being fit. Well, it does not come from nowhere. Apart from a perfect workout routine, a healthy diet forms part of the regime too.
So what is his secret?
“I eat a high protein diet, with lots of wholegrain carbs, fruit and vegetables, and avoid sugary foods,” he says according to Goal.com.
He loves to eat fish. The Real Madrid star’s favourite dish is bacalhau a braz, which is a mixture of cod, onions, thinly sliced potatoes and scrambled eggs. The 32-year old is also a fan of steak and a salad.
The Portugal player has always emphasised on the need to keep healthy.
“If you train regularly it’s important to keep energy levels high to fuel your body for better performance. I sometimes eat up to six smaller meals a day to make sure I have enough energy to perform each session at top level,” he continues.
He also maintains the need to drink a lot of water and insists how leaving alcohol is a sacrifice he has to make due to his profession.
Let’s be honest, the man knows how to keep fit. This is a diet we could try out too and of course we may not set the football world on fire, but at least our lives would become a little easier.
It is certainly working for him, his prowess on the football field is a testament to that.
