A full year after it was first unveiled at IFA 2016, Acer has finally launched the Predator 21X in India. This is a beast of a gaming laptop that captured eyes at the event. Mostly due to the one-of-a-kind curved display it sported.
The Predator 21X packs a 3.9GHz Intel Core i7-7820HK processor with top-of-the-line dual GTX 1080 (8GB+8GB) GPUs. It has 64GB of DDR4 RAM, with a 1TB HDD out of the box, and support for up to four 512GB SSDs. Of course, all of this is going to fry your system real fast, so there five system fans as well as nine heat pipes keeping it all cool.
The main attraction however is the unique 21-inch curved IPS display with a 2560x1080p resolution at 120Hz. This also packs in the fairly recent Tobii eye-tracking technology. On the keyboard side, it has a mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches for that glorious clickety clack feel. The keyboard is also backlit with each key individually programmable to a different colour. One slightly new addition is the numeric keyboard on the side, that flips over to turn into a precision touchpad. And finally, on the audio side is combination of two midrange speakers and two tweeters , as well as dual subwoofers.
Of course, cramming all of this into a single system has its cons. For one thing, the laptop is not portable in the slightest, weighing a solid 8.5 kg. In addition, it costs a whopping Rs 6,99,999 on Flipkart, one of if not the most expensive gaming laptop in India.
But hey, performance always has a price right?
