Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met still remains one of his most successful and loved films. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor, this rom-com managed to make a lot of hearts happy. The film recently completed ten years of its release but the magic of the film still lingers.
And if that’s still not enough, then there’s news that the actor-director duo are reuniting after a decade. Imtiaz’s characters Aditya and Geet were so lovable that Imtiaz is coming back with yet another glossy love story.
His last directorial Jab Harry Met Sejal might have been a disappointment at the box office but he still hasn’t given up on love, at least on-screen.
A source quoted by a leading daily reveals, “The film kicks off in Mumbai in April and will be followed by an extensive shoot, both in India and abroad. At the moment, Imtiaz is still looking for a leading lady to be cast opposite Shahid for this rom-com.”
Meanwhile, Imtiaz Ali is preparing for an untitled project while Shahid Kapoor is gearing up for his much awaited Padmavati. In one of his earlier interviews, Shahid had confessed how he wasn’t happy with the little attention his character got in Jab We Met.
“I feel for Aditya Kaushik, both in the movie and after its release, because he didn’t get the recognition he deserved. Instinctively, I knew that 10 years later people would get this guy but at that time, to make Jab We Met work, one character had to anchor the story so the other one could jump around.”
He also appreciated Imtiaz and called him a brilliant filmmaker. “I had a great time doing the film. Imtiaz Ali was still new, who was to know that he would turn out to be the brilliant filmmaker he is today.”
